Default Hummingbird Moth

My wife and granddaughter saw a couple during August, this year but I missed
them.
This evening, whilst settling to watch the Brazilian Grand Prix, I saw one
hovering around the security light above our lounge window.
By the time I had fetched my camera, it had disappeared. However, I found
this one about 6 feet away under the eaves. It looks right to me apart from
the pinky colours that I photographed last year.

Can someone confirm that it is a hummer and was it trying to find somewhere
to hibernate?
I have added it to the bottom of the 'bugs' page at:-

Yes, I'd say that was your HB Hawkmoth.
I have no knowledge what his or her intentions might be. :-)
They are still on the wing.
Their season is not yet over.
P'raps it was just having a rest from all that humming.
