Clonazepam (Rivotril) timing
Hello,
I was under the impression that clonazepam, unlike the other benzodiazepines should be taken every day -- that is my prescription; but my friend just showed me his pill bottle which says "as needed". I can understand that Xanax may be prescribed as such, but I thought that clonazepam would be dangerous to skip and start, due to the inter-dose withdrawal possibility. Are there different conditions for which daily and "as needed" prescriptions apply? Squiggles |

No Rivotril and xanax are just ordinary benzos and can be taken as required. |

I have taken colanzeapam for over 10 years. I have also taken xanax and other medications of this type. The only problem that my doctors have ever told me about coming off of any of them is that you have to do it very gradually. You would go by how your doctor told you to cut back on the amount until you were not taking them at all.
