Job Functions: Service/Skilled - Food & Nutritional Services -
Position Summary:Responsible for managing multi-functional food
service areas in a single unit. May assume GM's responsibilities
and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash
control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the
financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good
public relations. Typical Knowledge and SkillsEntry level manager
role. Requires some related experience in food service/contract
management, but little/no experience in a management role.
Typically has fewer direct reports. Role may reside in a smaller
account/unit where it is the only management position or in a
larger account/unit where there are multiple management levels.
May report to GM in smaller accounts, to Ops Manager in larger
accounts, or potentially to another manager level. Typically
receives direct coaching/counseling from immediate supervisor and
has less autonomy and opportunity for independent decision
making.Typical EducationHigh school diplomaTypical Related
Experience0-2 yearsRequired Degree / CertificationN/A Busy Board
Operation for small Liberal Arts, State College. $4.5 M sales
with strong Catering and Retail. Strong Board experience
preferred. Attention to detail and customer service, proper
hiring and training of staff crucial. Production experience
preferred. Ability to interact with Catering and Retail program
is necessary. Marketing experience needed and ability to plan and
execute special events, community service and student programs.
