opening for an Assistant Food Service Director. Flexible Hours!
Occasional Evenings and Weekends Included. In this position, you
will assist the Food Service Director in all aspects of Food
Service Operations. Assumes all Directors responsibilities
including but not limited to the following: 1. Coordinate food
service staff giving delegation as needed. Training food service
staff in proper sanitation procedures and methods. 2.
Responsible for adherence to all college procedures, policies and
guidelines. 3. Assist Director with purchasing, receiving and
proper storage of all food product delivered to campus according
to City and State Sanitation procedures. 4. Assist Director in
keeping food service equipment, food preparation and serving
areas clean in accordance with city and state sanitation
requirements. 5. Assist Director in coordinating repair and
maintenance of all food service equipment and facilities. 6.
Assist Director in designing menus, services, and special events
to meet the needs of customers and bring potential business
clients to campus. 7. Assist Director in marketing Food Service
Division services to internal and external customers. 8. Keep
abreast of new food service products and technology in the
culinary field and current food service trends. Promote new
products and implement new technologies in the Food Service
operation. 9. Utilize overflow of culinary production students
for the Food Service Division, teaching them banquet catering.
10. Create, maintain, and monitor control systems for all food
service inventory. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintain
good customer relations (internal and external) and resolve
problems as they arise. 2. Attend off-campus training and
seminars, which are required for the position. 3. Participate in
campus initiatives as required. 4. Other duties as assigned by
Director of Food Service which pertain to job description.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. Associates degree in Food Service
Management and/or Culinary Arts or related field required, BA
preferred. 2. 3-5 years experience in supervising/managing a
banquet food service program with food production experience
required. 3. 3-5 years experience in hospitality and culinary
arts presentation required. 4. State of Illinois Sanitation
Certified 5. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
