Default [WR] TS, Canterbury

Rather violent thunderstorm in Canterbury just now. 10mm of rain fell
within 10 minutes with a maximum rate (according to my Davis VP) of
187.5mm/hr. Lots of lightning reported by people in the area!

"Golf-ball-sized hail" according to the BBC this morning in Canterbury.
Interesting to note during the event that the pressure jumped up by
2.5mbar and a sudden gust (from no wind at all) of 15mph. Total rainfall
was 10.9mm with 10mm of that falling in 10 minutes.

The BBC had pictures on breakfast this morning to back this up. For once the
reporting was true!
