Blimey! I thought we were having it bad doon 'ere with it being so dull but have managed a 'not-so-disappointing' but still a very low 66 hours of sun so far this month. Other stats so far (1st - 13th) Rainfall 43.6 mm Mean max 19.3C Mean min 11.3C Mean 15.3C Highest temp was 23.0C on the 12th. Easily the worst summer I can remember. Let's hope August saves the day (and/or September). ________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

I suspect we've had nearer 80 hours of sunshine. If Philip's reading this any figures for Falmouth or anywhere in west Cornwall/Scilly? Graham Penzance |

If Philip's reading > this any figures for Falmouth or anywhere in west Cornwall/Scilly? I have been going through the sea level pressure charts for 1998 and was struck by the number of Lows that seems to have dominated the year then. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/tkfaxbraar.htm Was it really that bad? I can't remember a bad year like that. It wasn't THAT long ago was it? |

I should imagine Nick's sunshine potential may be somewhat restricted ?? Manchester has had but 26h bright sunshine July 1-14 ... the English northwest has taken over from the North Sea coastline as the gloomiest part of the country since the end of June. Philip |
