I understand that Richard Collins was organising a WNBR in Cambridge
on Saturday - but I've heard nothing about how it went or how many people took part. Does anyone know anything? |

I wonder if Craig is referring to the ride in Cambridge on July 14 organised by Richard Collins about which Pat started a thread on July 7: <http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.rec.naturist/msg/c53c609f93ecb0e0?&hl=en> -- Tim Forcer tmf@ecs.soton.ac.uk The University of Southampton, UK The University is not responsible for my opinions |

Any idea why? Copied from Chris Lamb's post of 8th July on the original thread :- I spoke to Richard a couple of days ago, and I know he has cancelled the ride on 14 July with great reluctance. He says: "There are several reasons that have made this decision necessary not all to do with the ride itself. I will circulate details of why this decision had to be made and hope that others will come forward to assist in a ride for Cambridge on a future date." He adds: "Due to personal matters, I will not be able to report the reasons for the postponement until after next weekend." Chris |

(The 'dedicated forum' in this case is a Yahoo group for which you have to be approved as a member to even read messages.) A mystery indeed. Perhaps similar 'personal' reasons are behind the fate of naturists UK, another of Collins' announced initiatives which never materialised. |

The last I heard, Richard was waiting for his son to finish his A levels so he could help him finish off the website. As A levels are soon to be over, maybe we'll hear more. Sounds almost as professional as BN doesn't it? |

Read Richard in the latest _H&E naturist_. Apparently Naturists UK has 70 members. And the launch will be July or August. And Reg Barlow shouldn't be criticising Richard, he should be writing to the non-naturist meeja to advance naturist causes. (All this is my recollection of wot he rote - apologies if memory is playing tricks.) Also, a quick trip to go-bare.org yielded the info that Richard's son will be working on Web software through July, August and September - it's not clear whether this work is part of getting the NUK site up, a pre-requisite for the NUK site, commercial work which reduces time available for NUK site production, or simply irrelevant to the NUK site. > Sounds almost as professional as BN doesn't it? IMO, a comment such as that doesn't actually do anything other than indicate Duncan likes denigrating both Richard and CCBN. While that is his right and privilege, I very much hope that, should he become CCBN Treasurer, he can offer a rather more positive approach to people and organisations. And, yes, I know that it seems at least some current CCBN Officers are happy to denigrate Duncan, but IMO that's unhelpful too. If CCBN is disintegrating, then that disintegration can only be hastened by actively promoting discord? -- Tim Forcer tmf@ecs.soton.ac.uk The University of Southampton, UK The University is not responsible for my opinions |
