Default Brighton suggestions?

I hope to visit Brighton soon. I know there is a naturist beach which I
have been to quite a few years ago. It is an official beach but I believe
that it is also a "cruisy" area, including the paths etc nearby and esp of
an evening. That's fine with me and I expect to visit there but I was
wondering if in light of this the area is monitored by the police - for
instance am I likely to find police cars driving past, which would
definitely put me off going there.

Why?

Police cars are quite harmless unless you jump out in front of them.

Both comments are fair enough in a sense, but I would rather not visit an
area if one's motives may be questioned in doing so and if the area has a
bad reputation locally.

I would think the Police presence would be to protect the beach users rights
and stop any illicit/cruising behaviour and therefore as mentioned in other
posts it is the far safer beach option in/near Brighton as I believe there
is an unofficial well used beach nearby which has made users feel unsafe.

There is also (if the weathers not great!) Bristol Gardens Health Spa
http://www.bghs.co.uk/index.htm which has had some good reviews here!

A report on your stay would be good as we hope touse a friends flat one
weekend away from the kids and (as the wife puts it) have a naturist
adventure!!!
