Where I see you are described as a 'saucy photogrpaher'. And you're
proud of this?

Exactly... : )

More importantly, we're getting mostly positive publicity for our
local naturist beach. I don't think many people will be afraid to
strip off there now after reading this, & isn't it good to see a young
woman campaigning for naturists instead of a middle-aged man?

Incidentally, the journalist asked Thanet Council to tell them exactly
how many complaints they'd received but they never got back to him, &
you'll notice they were "unable to comment on the latest protest".

So we've as good as WON!!! : )))

Congratulations to all involved.

The two "anti" quotes once again seem to support the view that nudity
does not cause alarm or distress (or any other sort of harm) but
merely that some people "might not appreciate it". The one lady says
that it can be "especially inappropriate for children" but, of course,
fails to say why she thinks it's inappropriate. I really think people
should be pressed to explain when they make this sort of statement.

I particularly liked "The Naked Truth" insert highlighted in yellow -
a very neat summary.

Even the two "antis" don't seem to mind the idea of a designated
naturist beach though. So theyre not totally against the idea.

Me too! : )

If only we could somehow start good-natured campaigns like this in
every town.

Ask your local councillor to get the answer for you. If they ALSO fail
to provide, then you do have some ammunition.

I have Simon. Still waiting for a reply but it's still early days. I
was not very satisfied with their original reply to my questions about
the notices, which was just as vague. Don't worry, we are on top of
this case.

Reg

PS Well done Peter and please pass on my thanks to Jemma Morgan.

This is a second go at this, so if I'm repeating myself; sorry. I
already have Simon. I wasn't very satisfied with the council's reply
after my first letter, so lets see if my second generates some
results.

Reg

PS Well done again Peter and please pass on my thanks to Jemma Morgan.

Thanks Reg & everyone, I will pass on your thanks. Incidentally that
is NOT Jemma in the smaller pic (despite the caption), Jemma is the
woman standing next to me in the bigger pic (2nd from the right).

Maybe someone can get some answers to their questions?

I wrote to Thanet Council's tourism website
(www.tourism.thanet.gov.uk) asking them to clarify the situation for
naturists at Botany Bay, & I got this reply:

"Than you for your email. Currently this matter is under consultation
so
we have referred it to our Foreshores department. At present no
information is given on our Tourism website www.visitthanet.co.uk till
the matter is resolved. "

How long ago did he ask for the number of complaints? The Freedom of
Information Act allows 20 working days for the information to be
provided [1]. I can't see that they could come up with any reasonable
excuse for not complying, and surely the council wouldn't want the paper
to report that they'd failed to comply with the law?

I'm not sure when they were asked by the press, but I know other
naturists have asked them more than 20 days ago. Maybe you'd like to
try? The more the better.

I took the photo below on Botany Bay yesterday. I didn't see any
other naturists, but several clothed people strolled by without
commenting, & one middle-aged woman just said hello as she walked
past. So it seems it's tolerated as much as it's ever by most the
locals, despite (or because of) all the recent publicity.
