You are totally missing the point. All this talk of newsgroup charters is totally and utterly irrelevant, so please stop wasting bandwidth and prolonging the thread and stop posting messages appealing to the said charters. The fact is, if you post a message in Welsh to wales.talk, you are going to get lots of messages in English in reply, most if not all of them being totally irrelevant to the subject of the first post. And nobody is going to trim the list of newsgroups that the message is cross-posted to. Your post, above, reminds me of a cartoon I once saw. It depicts a grave in a cemetery, and on the gravestone was carved a picture of a motorcycle, and underneath were the words "I was in the right". -- Jane |

Felly sgrifennodd Jane <spamtrap@yddraiggoch.demon.co.uk>:
>Look. You are totally missing the point. No I think you're missing my point. wales.cymraeg now cut from cross-post since this is unsuitable for that group (the thread being largely in English). <snipped irrelevant bit about charters being irrelevant> >The fact is, if you post a message in Welsh to wales.talk, you are going >to get lots of messages in English in reply, most if not all of them >being totally irrelevant to the subject of the first post. And nobody is >going to trim the list of newsgroups that the message is cross-posted >to. But you said that only English was to be used in wales.talk, and tried to tell me that's what the charter said. No-one was complaining that messages were appearing in wales.cymraeg which were only in English (although they could well have done so). You were complaining that messages were appearing in wales.talk that were only in Welsh. My messages were bilingual only because it was necessary because of the cross-post to wales.cymraeg, and that you should understand them. Since you clearly didn't understand them anyway, there's not a lot of point continuing this discussion. Adrian -- Adrian Shaw ais@ Adran Cyfrifiadureg, Prifysgol Cymru, aber.
