(i posted this in the vegas tourism group before finding this one -
sorry) -- wikipedia.org is reporting that KDWN was purchased this year and the format is changing to all sports... what the heck? is that right? I absolutely love that station (wake up america and all the actual LOCAL stuff) and the fact that i can get it pretty much everywhere and whatnot. i hope that this is incorrect. the article states that it will switch over july 1st of this year. can someone confirm or deny this? the KDWN website has no email address to ask them a question, and there is no information there about it either. the wikipedia article is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDWN |

Yes they were purchased. I don't know if their format is changing to sports but it has changed for the better. It used to be an old foggies station where all the old people called up and talked to the boring host. If you ever wnated to hear what a nursing home radio station sounded like KDWN was the one to listen to. How it ever stayed on the air as long as it did is beyond me. Now it has a fresh, contemporary format which is about time. |
