Default ZZR 600 losing 2 cylinders - update

Well I bypassed the sidestand switch and it's still losing 2
cylinders, opening the fuel tank didnt
resolve it either so its not the sidestand switch or the tank
breathers. Boo, today is a really nice
day to be on the bike.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking plugs/caps/leads or a coil breaking
down possibly?

I was thinking of seeing which of the downpipes pipes on the bike are
cooler than the others so I can narrow it down to a pair of cylinders,
anyone else got any tips?

Once I've determined which cylinders are not firing I'll swap the
coils over and see if the fault
follows the coils.

Cheers

That's always the first step.

I stopped paying much attention to electrics when points vanished, but have
you checked all of the electrical connections to do with the ignition
circuit? Presumably there are still wires attached to the coils? It could be
something as minor as a dodgy earth connection somewhere.

It would help to know if it was a specific pair failing.

That's the chappy. Don't forget - if swapping the coils works it might only
be that you made a better connection to one or the other when you swapped
them.

Aye. Piss on the headers.

That is headerist that is. What about the thumper riders, are they
excluded merely because they have headers in the singular? It is fine
for you lot who have more headers than brain cells but there are those
who choose to lead a comparatively header free existence and your
attitude towards them is intolerable, your sort should be hunged.
Except that hunging is too good for you. At the very least you should
have you headers taken away and given to those deserving poor who need
them more than you do and see how you like that. Typical of your sort
that sort of behaviour is. "oh look at me, I have got more headers than
you". Well don't you worry I know who you are and I shall be watching
you very, very carefully from now on.

If a thumper rider has a coil problem - well, that's it, innit? No
running on two out of four, as in the OP, you silly old fart.

Well now you are just splitting hairs aren't you. And when was the last
time you ever heard of a thumper doing anything other than working
exactly as intended? Eh? Even Timo at close range couldn't stop one of
those from working.

I think not Fritz. We, the British Working Class, have dealt with your
Hunnish ways before. We are not afraid.

As Princess Lear might have said in Omlette Act II seen V: "Is this a
gauntlet I see before me?"

But do you have two independent ignition systems like those folk that
keep all their wheels off the ground?
