Default Top Gear Polar thingy

The time on my PVR was 2 minutes fast, so I missed the bloody end.

What happened?

No idea, but thanks for mentioning it, coz it's on UKNova now.

PS: Does your PVR not bracket recordings by 5 mins or so?

heh, same here. I got to the point where the car made it, and then it cut
out. Apparently it wasn't the real north pole.

yes, so normally it's not a problem.

But, TG finished at 10pm, and I had another recording due to start at
10pm, so it switched over early.

Clarkson and May win.

Hammond goes into a coma after falling off the sledge at 3mph when one
of the dogs gets a bit of a poorly paw. Wakes up with a headache and a
craving for twiglets.

Clarkson eulogized on how climate change is a myth, on the basis that
there's still lots of snow and ice around the North Pole.

Yeah, thanks for that contribution, Bruce H. Easy to see why you align
yourself with Clarkson's faulty reasoning.

That was what I was wondering - I can't remember the c-ordinates they were
aiming for, but didn't have 90 as either - which I assume to be what is
needed as latitude to be the Pole - or am I wrong?

It was on last Wednesday and I also missed the last few minutes (BBC
always runs late - it must be the way it's funded).

I wondered how they got back and Hammond get there in the end - I saw it
up to the point they phoned him and the Clarkson going on about it not
being as easy as he thought.

I'm not going to download it just for the last minute or so.

Im grabbing the torrent now, if anyone wants me to snip the last 5 minutes
and then post it somewhere I can do. I dont have a UKRM torrent account, but
I can lob it onto Demonoid or something.

Heh. I saw it as I typed it, but thought it was a fine example of
self-munging typing, and in the middle of the word itself. Doesn't
come along every day, that sort of thing.

Actually, twas the Beeb running 2 minutes late. I recorded Heroes
afterwards as well, so got the ending, but each program started with the
ending of the previous one.

I would be very surprised if they even did the journey. I used to find

The episode when they had to run from the Arkansas rednecks was one of
the funniest things I've ever seen on the idiotbox.

Check the location of that crashed C47 they found. They may not have
done the entire journey (through the magic of TV), but they were
certainly on location.

One of the few things worth watching, IMHO.

Did we actually see *them* near the plane though? Not that it's really
important.

Indeed. It's possibly the best comedy the BBC produce. If people
wanted a serious car review prog the original Top Gear wouldn't have
sunk.

Fair point - faces weren't shown, just long shots of figures in red
parkas near the wreck. No, not really important.

Absolutely. It makes me roar with laughter. Nothing in the "proper"
comedy stakes touches it.

Maybe, but let's not forget that there are others up there. There's one
wreck of the end of Churchill main runway for example.

They showed the S/N so it was certainly the one on Ellef Ringnes
