Default There's something wrong with my Norton

I went out for a trundle earlier, and very nice it was too.

But there's a problem. There's no way it'll do 140 MPH.

Do you think Weggy's flogged me a dud one?

I guess you've got a Reasonably Put Together model as opposed to the
Well Screwed Together special edition.

Damn. Those model numbers are a bugger to understand, aren't they?

Especially because they seem to be in secret code as part of the
chassis number.

Heh. Can you imagine being on a Commando at 140? I'd rather not.

_many_ years ago when I used to fix the little rascals, there was many a
tale of 120+!
The thing that surprised me most about these tales of rocket propelled
Norton's was, that the guy's managed to stop the bloody thing and tell the
tale!
Getting 120+ wasn't too much of an issue, hauling the chunk of iron back
down to walking pace was more of a problem though.

That normally made for a rather slower and more observed ride back home.

surely sir is thinking of T140 bonnevilles.............

Mine used to unscrew its indicators at anything over 80 - quite
fascinating to watch.

Bonnies used to rotate their tachos and speedos in the housings, too,
IIRC. They're *never* in straight.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Wicked Uncle Nigel
