It's not a bike in massive demand, and I'd say £700 for a nice one was a fair price. Someone here was flogging a decent running one, all original, but with a bust speedio for £350-was it? recently. Answering my own question based on this: £70 = 16800d and would have bought 210 gallons of petrol at 80d a gallon [1] £700 buys 161 gallons (96p per litre) Taxation rates in 1969 and present remain broadly the same.
