I don't see that every time I get on the road - but then this is the UK.

Consider yourself lucky then. Now in parts of the US like Montana they SUV's are
mostly useful.

Here it's the opposite: You rarely see lane discipline, and if you ask
most drivers they would say something like, "What?"
