I think it's a statutory 14 day cooling off period for any contract. If
you went to the CAB they'd give you chapter-n-verse.

It appears that it's 7 working days. Either which way, as you've not
received what you've paid for (i.e. the policy - I'd argue that there's
no legal document stating you're covered in your possession, therefore
there's no cover) I'd reject any cancellation charges on that also.
