What happens when a "nice" poster replies to a "nasty" poster? TBH, I never really saw the point of scoring. -- Simon Brighton | MYSOB: http://www.sweller.co.uk/sob/ England | MZSOB: http://www.mztech.fsnet.co.uk/ |

It does a sum. Say somebody like Sir.Tony posts and scores and I score his posts at a -5, now there could be a reply by somebody I like to read, and that poster has a positive score of 7, the post would score 2 overall, and based on that I'd have a vague idea if it'll be interesting.. obviously posts between a number of insightful or thought provoking people score higher.. This means I can only look at posts scoring double figures when I'm busy, and I still keep up with interesting things, but when times are quiet I delve lower down the scores.. I now also score my own name in posts with double figures so I don't miss anyone replying to me. -- Ginge [at] stopthevoices [dot] org [dot] uk |
