Cheap vinegar will do this just as well. It's also a safer cleaning
product on kitchen surfaces. A bottle of vinegar in the washing machine
on an empty cycle will do wonders for limescale.

Vinegar, coke etc work ok on thin layers of soft limescale, but are
pretty crap at tackling a few months worth of thick, hard limescale
(we've got very hard water here). Oust otoh gets rid of it with a
single dose, no matter how much limescale there is. Stick your shower
head in the kettle afterwards & it does that too.

I 'want attention' only insofar as anyone else on ukrm 'want[s] attention',
