""Wise words...""

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a very good going over, but it's been
stored in a dry garage and run round the block every couple of months. It's
been well cared for during its layup - all the cables are rust-free and work
as progressively as they should, and there's good compression.
Crank seals are the first thing that came into my mind too, but I shouldn't
imagine it's a particularly difficult or expensive job on one of these?
There's also the fork seals too - they may fail soon after a little trail
riding, but it's all consumables, so I'm prepared for it.
And at that price (£250), it's no great loss if I destroy it (I'll try not
to though - I'm not out to kill myself!).
Thanks for the words of wisdom :-)

Nice one. Sounds like you got a real bargain. They fetch up to around
£600-700 for a good one usually round here.
Don't kill the old beast. A bit of trail riding yes, but asave the rough
stuff for a proper enduro tool when you're a bit 'braver'.
