Don't bother, just patch it to the K810i firmware and enjoy a nice,
fully working phone.

That sounds so techie, and that site you put up a while ago wanted dosh,
and I don't see why I should pay out to make something work when it was
supposed to work in the first place. Weirdly, this replacement K800i is
buggy, whereas the first one I had, nearly a year ago, wasn't. Go
figure.

I'm still using a K750i. It's still brilliant, and dirt cheap from Tescos.
Just spend a tenner getting it unlocked and job done.

AOL. Mine integrates perfectly with my Mac, keeps calendar up-to-date,
does ~iPod Nano (I added a 4 GB data wotsit), has a huge SMS memory, takes
decentish photos [1], and part of the 4GB is set aside for a secure disk
image, so I backup important stuff, and it's a USB key too, so I get to
print out stuff at the school (I don't have a printer here).

The bees' knees, really.

I've got one in a drawer somewhere, but it's not a patch on the K800i,
sorry. At least, not for what I use it for [1]

Never assign to malice, etc. Having worked with them, most OEMs & ODMs
spend the last week before setting the production line off building the
3rd party parts into the rom, and the last 30 seconds of that week
adding the network specific features.
