Yep, do that.. but get a quote for the full list of parts from the
dealer at the time, and present it to the neighbour saying that's what
it'll cost to fix if she doesn't want to go through her insurance
company..

Given the value of the bike I'd not involve your insurance if you can
help it. Better to leave it a bit tatty and keep your NCB, I reckon.
