I blame the fact i couldn't ride it today & am sulking. OK, it's in West Yorkshire, near Leeds, but I don't mind a ride to show you it or you can drop in at home etc. I will put it on eBay at £2400 & accept £2200, given the condition etc. Bikes are like Land Rovers, you don't buy them on age, you buy them on condition. Just reading last months DiRE mag & it reckons the 96-97 is the best of the blades. You can fit 4 cans of beer under the seat! Mind you, don't open them for a while after..... I may be totally out, but £1500-1750 sounds about right to me, certainly I'd never pay more than that for a 10yo Fireblade. Alan. -- To reply by e-mail, change the ' + ' to 'plus'. |

As in many machines, they bed in at mileage, the Fireblade engine is not some lawnmower engined chinese copy. You know that it is probably as good as, if not better than new at that mileage. Anyway, eBay here it comes. I did expect some flack here, afterall, it is me selling the bike. Alas, being in the clique adds values to bikes now as well as spouting bollocks all day. The highest bid for any '97 'Blade has been £1750. How do you plan to convince a bidder that it's worth over a third more than that? |

It's OK for you to say it *is* worth it, every one selling anything says that, but it's only worth what anyone else is willing to pay for it. If you get your price great, but if the price on fleabay seems to be £1750 thats what it's worth I'm afraid. -- Nick |

No, it's not. You're asking at least £400 over the odds, and that would be for a UK bike, Foor a Jap import, the price is lower. That may seem unfair, but that's the way the market works. The world is awash with really good condition low-miler Blades. Buyers can pick and choose. And they aren't going to choose a parallel import at a price premium. -- BMW K1100LT 750SS CB400F CD250 SL125 GAGARPHOF#30 GHPOTHUF#1 BOTAFOT#60 ANORAK#06 YTC#3 BOF#30 WUSS#5 The bells, the bells..... |
