I'm afraid he does let it cloud his judgement. Her biggest crime is
one she'll never be tried for b and that was starting a war with
Argentina.

I might agree with this point, whilst what she did to the miners wasn't
nice, to some extent it was inevitable especially after the experiences
of the Heath government.

The Falklands stuff may have been avoidable and I *suspect* that it was
allowed to happen for jingoistic electoral reasons.

However, once the war started I've no problem with the way it was
executed (just for clarity). Belgrano- it's tough, if you play with
fire you're going to get burnt.

My problem with that is that if we start breaking the "rules" about
how we do war, the other side will. And I think that we would start
squealing soon enough if Johnny foreigner is really being jolly batey,
dash it.

I don't believe we broke the rules, more like bent them.

Given all the compo claims since made for silicosis (?), it seems like
a good idea on both health, and economic, grounds.

That's just about summed me up really.

Mind you, it's a bit cruel to refer to my incontinence in public.

I didn't like what Thatcher did to the party or the country either FWIW.
She did some things I thought needed doing, she did more that didn't.

I've not really liked any of the leaders since, excepting Major who
struck me as a basically decent bloke (excepting the 'if it's not
hurting... ' line which I, like to, think was an ill judged attempt at a
sound-byte).
