Don't forget, you're no longer dealing with a middle-aged computer
specialist with a PhD ... you're talking to Charlotte Church's little
sister.

Good point, and, I'm feeling a little guilty, really. I appreciate
that Molly is going through a difficult[1] time, and I am prepared to
accept that hormones or whatever can have unusual[2] effects, but I
don't accept that they can transform a rational, if quaint,
middle-aged person, into a rambling half-witted teenager.

[1,2] I make no claims to "understand" how difficult or unusual.

while I agree with the comments about the rambling and very numerous
posts I would just make the point that when you go through the
fundamental step of realising who you *really* are that life in a whole
pile of ways starts again.

While you have taken a step to greater personal certainty your whole
world gets turned upside down. Previously you were (probably) in a
majority and aligned with society and its views; now you are in a
minority, scared of people's reactions and many of life's certainties
have gone. You need to rebuild your life and it can take years to do so
successfully.

From an entirely personal perspective I found it completely bizarre to
be in my thirties when I came out and feeling like a teenager who has
worked out (at last!) who he fancies. I had no teenage years to speak of
(in the context that a lot of people remember them) and it is a real
"gap" in my personality.

I can only understand to some extent what Molly is going through but I
can appreciate the ups and downs that she is experiencing. Whether you
choose to accept any of my reasoning / comment is, of course, entirely
up to you Mr Dodger.

Accepted.

I've said me piece, and now I'll keep my peace.
