I wear a seatbelt in the car, because in NI, the "wear a seatbelt" law had just come in when I was learning to drive, and so I've never really driven a car without one, so it feels "natural" to wear it. Having said that, if I'm just driving round the block or something, I won't bother to put it on (and boy, does a Jeep Cherokee scold you for this!). >Don't get me wrong. I don't take issue with what other people choose to wear. I do object to people telling other people that they should wear "safety" gear at all times. It's preachy, sanctimonious, and wooly-headed thinking. -- d. |

That is *exactly* why I nearly always wear full kit on the bike. [1] I just feel uncomfortable without. By the same token, I'll run it round the corner in jeans and a t-shirt. I (nearly) always wear gloves cos I like my hands, and nearly always wear boots (cos I don't wear shoes in the house. If I've got to put something on anyway. I may as well put the boots on) I dislike riding in denim type jeans cos I find my arse slides around.
