Ok, so this subject has probably been done to death, but what are the
rules for parking on the pavement. I have just picket up a ticket for a nifty for parking on the pavement, curtesy of Westminster council. I parked there in the niave belief that it was a sensible thing to do from all views, ( ok I know) . Do I have a chance of getting away with it ???? -- Now as grey as gandalf, but not quite as old!!! |

This was on the street, where you (apparently) must park in the direction of traffic flow. Some off-street parking does also have rules thoug, but they'll generally have signs up. The one that pisses me off is where you're next to the road, but perpendicular to it, and the signs tell you you must park with 'Auspuff gegen der Strasse' (exhaust outwards). I hate parking that way, as it means I have to reverse out into the street, but when in Rome... -- Ace (brucedotrogers a.t rochedotcom) GSX-R1000K3, CB400F2 BOTAFOT#3, SbS#2, UKRMMA#13, DFV#8, BOTCdV#1 |

IIRC there's some obscure by-law about the pavement being part of the building within the shadow it cast at 12 noon mid summer.
