I believe you've owned a Yamaha GTS1000 in the past, correct? Check exhaust collector box/catalyser, especially the four inlet pipes, very expensive OE replacement. Check the thickness of the front disk, can't recall what the minimum should be, but about 12.5mm. Yamaha make the best pads (and prolly the most expensive...) for the front. As Steve says, if it's ABS, make sure it's working, the pump is (supposedley) not serviceable and expensive. Also I don't think there are any Givi racks to be had anymore and the Krauser fittings are expensive, if you can find them. See my/WUNs/Steves GTS, still here; http://people.zeelandnet.nl/exiled/ I must put something else on there... <scribbles note> <loses note under pile of junk> -- Mike FJ1200 |

I was hoping to have had the FJ12 back on the road, and to have decided to keep it or ebay it, but Kev is being his usual 'manana' self, so I won't have it back, hopefully MOT's and oil-tight until Wednesday, and it will take me a few days of indecision after that. -- Rob_P UKRM(at)indqualtec.co.uk uppercase(d) BBIWYMC#1 BOG#11? Hrmpfmbl. Well, it's going to the MOT station tomorrow and hopefully it'll pass. Let's take it from there... The problem is that I've already found a replacement[1] for it *if* I can find the space. And that's only forthcoming if I can get rid of the VFR. [1] I don't think Lozzo would appreciate the replacement. Sorry, I seem to be genetically disposed to buy certain vehicles, like BMW bikes and Mazdas with rotary engines. -- Morini Corsaro 125 | CB450K4 | XL250 Motosport x2 | 900SSD | VFR750 Triumph T-Bird chop | K1100LT | CB400/4 BOTAFOF #33 TWA#10 The UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/index.html "Je profite du paysage" - Joe Bar |

That's the first time I've actually seen a rotary engine in situ (although as a teenager I saw the Suzuki RE5 in the local showroom at the time I bought my CJ250T). Squinting round Ebay led me to search out other old cage favourites that I've owned and loved - Citroen CX are virtually all gone now and there are more of my other favourite, the P5 Rover, on Ebay. This was a DW19, with the single headlights rather than the DS that had the double 'turning' ones. He also modded the hydraulic suspension so it had this much <fx: holds out hands oustretched in a vertical plane> travel. It was quite a sight at full height. He did this because going to various rallies and caravan sites[1] invariably involved driving across rough-ish fields. [1] Yes, yes, I know. -- Chris |
