I dont know Fr Jack - I will look tomorrow. As for Lozzo it worked
brilliantly.

I had a super run back following PJ until I got to roads I know and then
gave it some.

Many thanks once again.

I do believe that I have already sent thanks.

I will email this also in case the newsreader is playing silly buggers

I'm a bit suss about that 2A fuse, it seems very light for a solenoid of
that size and power. It may be worth looking at what it's rated at and
then working out what fuse it should be fitted with.

Or look at the possibility of replacing it with a similarly rated
blade fuse.

That's a pretty good idea, the blade fuses are less prone to failing due
to vibration. My thought was that a solenoid the size of that one draws
alot of current to operate. It's not a smooth operation either, it's a
massive surge. The glass mini 2A one it has looked quite fragile and
tbh, not up to the job.

Lozzo,

My understanding is that the solenoid draws 25 amps but I could
be/probably am {delete as appropriate} talking bollix.

In which case a 3A fuse would be more appropriate.

Would the circuit protected by the 2A fuse operated a relay, which
turn would drive the solenoid? In which case the would the 2A fuse not
protect the relay.

It is wired directly via the ignition switch. No relay.

Having had a poke around the Klicktronic website, I now understand.
