Dear KotL:
I recently changed job, moving from the noble, selfless, public-spirited enterprise of the NHS, into the sordid world of commerce. Not that I've discovered that much difference ... My new employers provide a new car with new job (along with paying for me to move house), and the company insurance doesn't appear to cover bikes. Further, driving said vehicle around yesterday in pissing rain and howling winds, I realised that, sometimes, c*rs have their advantages. Admitting the heresy of these words, I confess that I was never worthy to have a two# to begin with, and can never aspire to be a RTB. <slinks off into corner> |

The company i work for flat out refuse to let me travel to our other offices, for health and safety reasons (i have the neccessary insurance etc...which they initially said was the problem...so i got it, then they come back with health and safety) . I have had lengthy remonstrations with the people who made the decisions, and basically they have refused to let me go on my bike. (which means i cant go to one office at all, and the other i have to go to by train: - i have no car licence, and have no intention of getting one). I am also aware of other jobs where only travel (no carrying of bulky items) require car licences. All vaguely annoying. But i shall not be taken by the dark side. Oist CBF600 |
