Windows media won't access files off the 'net.
Wanting, natch, to watch the 'dangerous riding' (my arse)[1] vid, I duly clicked on the various links. No go. Clearly there was something there, as WM window popped up with the correct filename all ready to play, but when I clicked 'play' it gave me an error message saying "Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline." I cut and paste the URL into the 'open URL' box, same error message. The only thing I could do was create a web page with the link in it, and right click on that and 'save target as...' - surely there has to be an easier way?! TIA. Options.. and select DELETE FILES from the "temporary internet files" section on the General tab. It should all work again after that. there's a bug in some versions of MSIE. -- Ginge - ZRX1200R, SZR660 |

Cheers for the tip,m but I deleted all them yesterday anyway (virus attack at work, deleted them before starting my virus scanner in the hope that it would not then take all day). Still got the same issue. Have checked that all the network protocols are enabled, and they are - d'you reckon it's do to with the configuration of same? Oh, and I'm no longer trying to access Dodger's link as I know he's taken that down (presumably as it's ever so slightly moody). -- Claire Grainger ZXR400 DFWAG#5 TWA#8 IbW#21 BOTAFOT#151 |
