For anyone with an interest in the history of France during the Nazi occupation, BBC FOUR are showing The Sorrow And The Pity tonight from 7pm to 9pm (part one) and 9.30pm to 11.40pm (part two). -- ogden, b12 (with funky yellow luggage) |

Jesus, you just know what this thread will turn into when Des gets going. He's only been back a couple of weeks and we've already redone the constitution, is he really French, supermarkets, frog & rosbif - terms of endearment or insult, endless "France is better", a war of words with TOG and now we've got the second world war to look forward to. I'm considering killing this thread right now ![]() -- Alan ZX9R E2 (Green of course) '03 Tiger 955i (A pleasing shade of green) |

"The Sorrow and the Pity"? More like "How fast did they roll over and spread 'em?" The Italian fascist state refused to cooperate with the German 'final solution'. The Catholic church, however, by its inaction didn't. That alone is a good enough reason why organised Christianity, IMO, is to be reviled. Although a great many monastery's and individual members of the Italian clergy provided shelter for Jews fleeing south. That is a good enough reason for many individuals to be admired. -- Simon Brighton | MYSOB: http://www.sweller.co.uk/sob/ England | MZSOB: http://www.mztech.fsnet.co.uk/ |
