Cheap to get there, reasonable restaurants, the times I've been daytime temperature has been around 25C dropping to 15C overnight. I've gone with explorers http://www.explorers.co.uk/ stayed at Narma bay weeks B&B with a 10 dive pack £340. The christmas week will be more expensive and the dives will be extra. I'm hoping to get some wreck dives in too. -- cane ¦ fireblade, r30 |

Went there for a weekend. Some excellent diving to be had, hotels very nice and loads of Eyties all round the place. I enjoyed it. Yes, a while ago. Great diving. Hot as hell in October. Probably extremely cheap, even for the 5* places in Naama Bay. Worth going into Sharm itself to mingle with the locals, provided that's not been turned into some sort of theme park already. If you can, rent a quad bike and do an escorted night ride through the desert -- simonk |

Great fun .... loads of great diving (obviously ...) but if your going to take the kids with you they may struggle to stay occupied. Very western in facilities (MacD's, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe, KFC, Pizza Hut etc) Wide range of hotels. Take packets of Chocolate Hob Nobs to bribe UK dive centre staff with ;o) Take earplugs if you are anywhere near the town and want to sleep from midnight onwards ;o) the Egyptian taxi drivers seem to think its required to toot their horns all night. Also they seem to prefer to drive with their lights of at night. Oh and as a final bit of advice ... if you visit the USA at a later date with a middle east visa stamped in your passport you will get slightly more attention than before ... of course wearing a Sharm El Shiek sweatshirt for travelling in probably did'nt help ... -- Steve Parry http://www.gwynfryn.co.uk K100RS SE F650 |

I recommend Explorers, but most of the operators advertising in Diver or Dive magazines are pretty good. The Dunraven and the Thistlegorm are excellent, but crowded. I recommend spending a few days at least on a liveaboard and getting early dawn dives on the wrecks before the day-boats arrive. You can also dive some of the less busy sites at dusk.
