Is it just me or does every single one of those 'reminders' on tv that
smokers are only allowed to indulge in their pleasure in open fields, 15 miles from the nearest shelter, whether it be advertisements for nicotine gum, explanations of how cravings work, or the government telling us we're not allowed to do anything at all that we might enjoy, really, REALLY, make you want to start again? -- Si - XV535 - Wivva new front tyre and shiny new brake fluid |

Surely we ought to feel attracted to it again now it's illicit. I mean, most people I know who do started in school, so hiding behind a shed is a nostalgia trip. And blah blah etc. I've never been a smoker, and now it's against the rules, but I'm still tempted to start to spite the government. I think I'll stick to riding bikes, it's more fun. -- Tori |

All you have to do is > actually WANT to stop. AOL. I decided to give up recently and I got patches on the NHS. First day at work I felt fine and dandy all day thinking that these patches do the trick. Then someone pointed out, as I went home from work, that they'd seen the patch fall off first thing in the morning. Then I felt silly and didn't bother with them after that. -- Chris H, FZS1000, two#55 He's predictable, but that's to be expected. Please remove the numbers to reply |

Not smoked since, except when I've been 'out wi't lads' and have a couple on the night .... which only reinforces why I gave it up in the first place. It's a nice feeling at the time, smoking, but the after taste, next day, the smell on the clothes, and the hoarse throat is truly awful. > They make me want to start again just so I can give up again to prove > how easy it is. ![]() -- Paul - xxx |
