Default OT: Dremels and things like them.

I'm about to re-grout a shower and the source of wisdom
at the pub suggested using a Dremel to take the old grout out.
Has anyone done this?
Do you need a Dremel?
Are there cheaper alternatives if so from where?

I use an old tile cutter thingy, just run it down the grooves a few times
and the grouts gone.

A Dremel is an angle grinder, of sorts.

One slip and you've chopped some of the glaze off the tiles.

What's wrong with the grout, anyway? If it's fungussy, you'll need to get
all the grout out, which effectively means taking the tiles off too. If
it's not that bad, toothbrush and Domestos is the way to go.

I've removed grout, when domestos in a plant sprayer [1] and toothbrush
failed, with a cheap toothed device from Wickes/B&Q/Wherever that gouged
it out quite successfully.

The grout is coming out in places. Like it wasn't applied properly. I
thought I'd re-do it properly, now I'm up to speed on tiling and
grouting having finished off the upstairs bathroom.

For those who were interested I didn't put a psychedelic moving oil
floor in. I used terracotta tiles. I thought about Champs sensitive side
and his comments about it.

B&Q are doing the "Performance Power" version for 30 quid, *including*
drill stand *and* one of those flexi-cable-drill-shaft extension
