Right, I are mostly well bloaty and so unfit it's frightening. When (in
the dim and distant) I went to a gym for a while the only exercise I found moderately tolerable was the rowing machine. So I'm going to buy one. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a king's ransom, but I'd like a decent quality machine with a nice smooth action. If it's reasonably small, that'd be a bonus. Knobs, buttons and LED's are a definite plus point. -- Nigel - No longer worse than Platypus WS* GHPOTHUF#24 APOSTLE#14 DLC#1 COFF#20 BOTAFOT#150 HYPO#0(KoTL) ZZR1100, Enfield 500 Curry House Racer "The Basmati Rice Burner", Honda GL1000K2 |

Knobs, buttons and LED's are a definite plus > point. Hiya! I have a Tunturi rowing machine with the sliding seat & a big heavy flywheel thingy. Probably magnetic but a good un. LCD computer and all the bells & whistles. Ex-gym machine. Paid £15.00 for it in a private sale. :-) Spent £15 on new seat rollers. Tunturi are in Nottingham, so I was able to collect the new rollers, and while I was there they "found" me a spare computer as the original one was borked. This machine was over £1000 when originally sold. It is sitting in my lockup unit, I'm at home, and I can't remember the model number. Tough luck if you want a particular model. This is now surplus to requirements, and is about to go in the skip. I can't be arsed to sell it. Do you want it? Free, if you can collect it. It weighs a ton! (not really, but it is too heavy for me to lift on my own) I don't want it hanging around for ages, so it needs shifting sharpish. I'm in mid Staffordshire. David Kemper. No Emails as all deleted on receipt. Reply on group please. BTW can I have a number for SNCNB? <shiny new car, no bike> |

It's not as good (as in for training for real rowing) as the Concept II that all the "proper" rowers will recommend, but in terms of /excercise/ there's not a lot in it. And it's a *lot* more compact than a Concept. -- d. |

Hmm... I'm leaning towards this one at the moment: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...play?productId =82849 mainly on the grounds that it's reasonably small and reasonably cheap at 199 of your English pounds. Of course, I'm too heavy for it (according to the specs), but that's true of every machine I've seen so far.
