No but they seem incredibly cheap for the work put into them. The Stud is
lovely.

Not on those, but I am an expert in getting Yank car parts from
Yankland.

If he decides to up his budget by a fair chunk & get a Corvette
instead, I'm yer man.

not really, but both look more than a bit cheap, and are for sale by
zero-feedback traders with accounts created in the last week.

I wouldn't call myself an expert on them but I do know a fair amount about
them. More than is healthy for my wallet, anyway.

Both of them look like scams - fer fecks sake, the Hawk even has what looks
like an old California numberplate on the back. They're also *seriously*
underpriced - there is a Hawk in need of some cosmetic attention and de-
denting on US fleabay with more than a day to go, and that's already up to $4.
5k. I would guess that a Hawk - especially in the condition that this one is
advertised in - would fetch at least 15k-25k, if not more. If it's genuine,
well, buy it in a flash but I bet you that the seller will be 'travelling'
and 'make arrangements to deliver the car, which will be included in the
price'. Which has been happening very often lately on ebay - it's always a 0
rated seller, the car or bike is always underpriced and you can never view it.
Guess the owner would object.

And regarding the Fury, heck, it's an early Mopar musclecar. Anybody who's
seen where the prices for sixties musclecars have been heading recently knows
that the prices is out by at least a zero if it's slightly grotty. Again, if
it's as nice as it is in the pictures, you're looking at at least a 10k-15k
car.

Also, note that both cars have been resprayed recently and as someone who's
given Beav & Son a rather large wedge I can confirm that neither price would
cover the cost of even a basic, OK respray.

Mopar parts shouldn't be a problem as they've got quite a following in the
States, I would expect that Studebaker parts take a lot more tracking down
due to the rarity of the cars.

Get him to buy a copy of 'Classic American' or similar to get a feel for the
asking prices before he buys cars from people with nicknames like Dodgy Nick..

Weird - I F5'd them both & they said item not listed or removed or
whatever the message is. F5 them again now & they're back.

Also, one could contact this mob and ask why they appear to be selling
a 1966 Plymouth:

Yeah, looks like there's an awful lot of rather desirable late sixties cars
advertised by 0 rated sellers for 1900 quid.

Not very imaginative, those guys.

Just had this response from the seller, maybe it *might* be a scam.

Hello,

I am selling this car for £1000 including delivery anywhere in UK. I think
this is a low price but i need cash for a family emergency. I have to tell
you that I'm currently out of town with some major problems so pick up/view
isn't an option. If you want to buy this vehicle email me back with your
full name and address to start the official procedure trough eBay. They will
send you a notification with ALL the info regarding delivery, purchase
protection and refund policy so please provide your details before more
questions. You will find 90% of answers in that notification from eBay!

Thanks

Tell him you need to see the vehicle immediately, and the V5 and will only
proceed BUT PROCEED IMMEDIATELY with a cash sale in £20 notes in person.
The ubber cheap GSXR1000 seller a few months ago evaporated at that point.

The phrase "out of town" is very obviously an americanism. I'd bet
that the scammer is on the other side of the atlantic.

A bit like the Bimota and 'busa that looked very like a couple of ended
listings within the last month (even the same garden furniture in one set of
pics...) - the scammers pick sommat that made (eg) £4000 and put it up as a
buy-it-now or classified ad for half or quarter price - you'd probably find
the ads either in the US or over here, probably with word-for-word
descriptions, in an advanced search for "ended listings only"...
