One man's blink is another man's squint. Or something. BTW, check the stats - 600's get to 60 (100km/h ) just as fast (in somecases faster) then the litre bikes. It's after that it all goes downhill for the 2 pint brigade. |

Whenever I've seen 0-60 times, pretty much everything with 100+ horspower does 3.something seconds. Once you've got enough power to spin the wheel, that's going to be the limiting factor up to such a low speed. But I'd be very suprised if a 600 could consistently, measurably and significantly beat a litre bike. Heh. Top Gear last night were making a similar point about some new over-pwered Merc that just lights up the rear wheels if you try to gas it as hard as you can. I'd also point the learned gentleman to a series of traffic light drag races between self on a mildly tuned DR-Z 400 supermoto and a bloke on a litre bike, to whit an old GSX1100E with a Harris race pipe, last week off the lights on the Walworth Rd. The DR-Z easily got away first and it took the GSX until we were doing about 40-50 a hundred yards or so on to come past. Repeated at the Camberwell Green lights and Denmark Hill lights for good effect :-) -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

But I was looking at this thing in PB and it was about which bike was .1 of a second quicker to 60. And it wasn't necessarily the most powerful one (but I can't even remember which bikes were involved). And I was thinking "oh". And now I have *no* recollection. -- Ben Blaney |
