before I went out for a ride today, I thought I'd give the Tiger a bit
of a wash. When I was cleaning it, I noticed there seemed to be a bit of play in the right footrest/brake lever - so I gave it a bit of a shake.... ....it was so loose, the top allen bolt actually fell out and rolled away and the bottom one appeared to be only 1 or 2 turns away from doing the same! Anyway, tightened it up, no worries, and now the "odd feeling" that I thought was to do with the brake lever or actuator has gone away - obviously it was just the whole plot shifting when pressing the lever. Slightly silly design by Triumph, BTW, insofar as to tighten the bottom bolt that holds the footrest/brake plate to the frame, you actually have to unscrew and partially relocate the brake lever itself, as when it's all bolted together, the bolt is obscured by the lever. -- d. |

My front brake lever has done the same a couple of times. Look down... and the sodding bolt is sticking almost out. At least you weren't riding at the time. -- Tori |
