I've lost the photo section of my Driving License. I may be changing
address soon. I'm considering holding off replacing it until I'm certain about my new address (Move might be 3-6 months away). Is it risky to drive for long periods of time without access to the photo section of your driving license? (I presume many people don't realize they've lost theirs until they get a producer so assume the punishment can't be too draconian.) TIA |

However, a friend of mine managed to lose his licence and forget to update it too. When he got himself stopped, he got a producer and a ticking off for driving barefoot. Down at the copshop, it turned out that he couldn't produce a licence, had the car registered at one address and insured at another. Because he couldn't produce, the offence changed slightly and he could no longer be dealt with by use of a fixed penalty for the speeding offence, the cause of the stop in the first place. It all got very messy, involving solicitors, court appearances and hefty fines, not to mention a good points haul. YMMV, of course. -- Pip: B12 |

On a similar level, my tax disk, valid until 31/12/07 has never been placed anywhere near my bike and lives next to my monitor and works as a good coaster. However, when I'm away from home or abroad I'll normally stick it in the tank bag to help smooth otherwise tricky situations over if they happen. -- -- Nick ICQ: 9235201 EMAIL & MSN: nickmooney@spamcop.net -- LOTR#4 SKOGA#8 DS#7 BOTAFOT#159 BOTM#2 FBOTY#06 PM#11 -- GSF600n www.bgn.me.uk - Drive until you lose the road |
