They want to extend it using Harrow Road as the boundary going as far west as Scrubs Lane in College Park. I live /just/ on the "good" side of the Harrow Road so if I ever buy a car and want to go south, it's a trip west and down through White City :-( -- Smile...tomorrow will be worse CBR1000FL |

Ta. I suppose it's a question of when, not if. In the future I think it's inevitable that all major trunk routes will attract tolls to balance demand. Balance demand my foot - what's the alternative that doesn't involve getting wet/covered in soot etc? If there is a choice, it's not a tax. If there is no sensible alternative, it's a tax. |

I feel we get a raw deal in the UK to be honest. I don't believe our overall primary and secondary rates of tax (including council tax, water rates, NI contributions, death duties etc. etc. etc.) are massively less than other European Countries such as Germany and yet, we don't get the quality of service that they do. Of course this is all instinctive and not based on a hard examination of the facts. -- it's better to burn out than fade away |
