Default come on, you know you want to: BOTAFOF 080707

well, just in case anyone actually does want to turn up:

09:45 for 10:00 start at the filling station @ South Mimms Services -
aim to end at High Beach around 11:30-12:00

if you fancy coming along, but don't know me, I'll be the short-haired
short fella on a black Triumph Tiger 955i.

And for those that don't know me, I'm the big bloke with short hair on
a bright yellow blade......

Only kidding, i wish, but a 200m ride before a run could be a tad
tiring!

Out of interest, are there much filth around? I'm more than likel;y
going to Scarborough early morning & you hardly see a plod all the way
there & back.

I'm meant to be going to some zoo or other tomorrow morning. Had a
great ride this afternoon though - first time I've had it out since the
Dieppe run two months ago courtesy of collusion between the weather and
an on-call rota. Christ that's fun.

Some top class fanny in Henley too, shame about the Ruperts in boating
blazers. First against the wall, etc.

I really must get a 'FOF under my belt too, unfortunately not tomorrow
though as I'm off to the West Country for a few days.

Had a rather pleasant bimble over to High Wycombe this morning to see
my parents argue with each other, follwed by a blast back down the M40
to home (woo, and a side portion of hoo too).

Ho hum, bike's back in the shed where I expect it will languish till
the end of the month, when I will have to drag it out and polish it in
readiness for the Zephyr rally in Reading.

I did a 329/4074/4130/404 run via Pangbourne, Streatley, Wallingford,
Henley and Marlow with a quick loop up to the hairpin by Fox's. Used to
be my regular evening run, far more pleasant without the sun in my eyes
all the way.

Too early, too far away.

I might be tempted to do the lunch in Stratford-on-Avon thing though, if
anyone else is up for it.

At that time on a Sunday morning, I'll be staggering around the kitchen,
bollock naked, trying to make coffee. Probably.

I only have one running bike and that's the red MZ. However, the Guzzi
is the only one with any tax or MOT and is part way through a long
overdue service but "I got bored", so is still in pieces.

OK - sod the lot of you - I had a great run between 09:00 and 12:00
yesterday - lovely weather, great roads.

I did turn up at South Mimms a) on the off chance & b) because I
needed fuel anyway.

Weird sight at South Mimms: a bunch of guys, leathered-up, back-
protectors etc, race-rep helmets, bike boots etc.....riding scooters,
including one of those 3 wheel Piaggios - very strange to see scooter-
bois with full bike kit on.

well, weather depending, there'll be another one next week, but not
for a 3-4 weeks after that as I'll be in Praia de Rocha / Northern
Ireland / Paris.

No, it's something we've not done in ages is all.

The overall arrangement was that people from all directions converge on
the Pen and Parchment in the middle of Stratford, at lunchtime, for pie,
pint, and jovial banter. Once fed and watered either heading home of
going for a bit of a ride out, depending on how far they've journeyed.

I really need to get some advanced planning sorted and be at home on a
Sunday so we can do a trip to the P&P. It's not a bad ride over from
our place and upsetting the locals is always good value.

I quite liked that twisty fish hill road that's somewhere the other side
of stratford, but I can't remember exactly where. It's worth the trip
just for a blast up that.
