It's a good runner, ignore the bit in the ad about it having a flat battery,
it's fine really and now it just needs tax, MOT and a new owner. Only done 300 miles since last MOT and has been garaged. Would prefer to sell to a collector but highest bid wins! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ategory=98 06 |

I take it that it is the CX500A, the one where the crank failed early in it's life? If was only on the CX500B when the crank was sorted that the engines ran for long enough to discover the camchain problem. -- Gyp BOTAFOT#99, BotToS#4, UKRMT5BB '89 R80RT - intercontinental ballistic tourer '97 XLH1200 - weapon of muff disruption Take out the chemical loo to reply |

I can only go on what frame numbers are in my Haynes manual so here is what info I have: It's not a CX500A (1980, with square master cylinder, flyscreen and alloy rad surround) It's a CX500 original model (1978, with a round master cylinder). Frame number is CX50002015012 As for the crank and the cam chain... well.. it's done around 35000 miles so I can only assume that if anything was going to snap it might have done so by now. My local Honda agent seemed to think it was ok when I took it there for a service and MOT shortly after buying it in 1997. |

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. You're not alone in suggesting that, so I have! It passed its MOT this afternoon. So... nice clean example of an early CX500, full 12 months MOT.... OK I guess I should have MOT'd it BEFORE putting it up for sale but sometimes one just acts on impulse. I really felt that after only doing 300 miles in the last 2 years with me it really needed a new owner to cherish it. Anthony. |
