Default That not bad for Eurotunnel to Chimay

Yay - 32 quid return, going out Saturday morning, coming back Sunday
afternoon...

Now all I need is a bike with a key.

Not this time, no.

Too long a drag, this side and no leave left - all booked for later
on.

Bastard. That's half what I paid.

If you unbolt the ignition switch, they're very easy to hot-wire.

Ditto. Then again I'm crossing on Friday and (possibly) Monday.

. Actually, that's only because I leave Saturday and can get the
really cheap shopping-type ticket that way. One to keep in mind, they
seem to start at around a tenner each way if you book early enough.

Only problem is that I got on the 7:20 as that was the only train they
had tickets left for, so I won't be in Chimay before mid-day.

Ah. Dodgy geezers'r'us I *would* prefer to have a bike I can turn off
with the normal implements, though.

Fair enough. The 'leave' bit is why I'm leaving Saturday instead of
going out on Friday but I think I need a day or two away from everything
so I'm going.

Well, I'm *trying*

*ding*. And that's the reason for the difference.

07:20 for me, but I guess we could meet up a little further down the
road as you're likely to go a bit faster than I do on the 400/4.

Why? You should be able to cruise happily at 80-90 on the 400. Which
bike is Nick taking, anyway?

Not with a weekend's camping kit and luggage. 70-80, certainly. Still
not bad for a 30 year-old 400.

*ding*. And I'd rather do it at a pace that both me and the bike feel
happy at. It's not like I'm not wound up enough as things are.

have fun. Yet another year and yet another failed Chimay plan, still,
there's always next year...

Have to say that this year it's not all my fault - I didn't ask to have to
spend out god-knows-what in order that I can tender for (and not necessarily
get) the job I already do. Bloody red tape.

Although it is my fault I sisn't get around to the top-end rebuild on the
bike last winter.

I assume you've found a key for it then?

I still haven't found the bloody key for the 400/4 so I may have to use
another bike. Bugger. And no, I'm not turning up at the Eurotunnel
terminal with a hotwired bike, in the wrong colour (according to the
V5), given the way they tend to 'examine' my bikes every time I try to
get out or back into the country.

I think that's more a case of Immigration going:

"Hey, Bill, over here! Quick! It's Timo again, and the bike's actually
*running*! Let's see what he's done to it this time......"
