Hi,
I have lurked on this NG for about a year now and have an interest in all types of bikes. (not ridden for a lot of years though!). This is sort of off topic, but you people may be able to point me in the right direction. I am repairing a yamaha scooter for my daughter (yeah I know !) and I need to get two sets of small conical springs and rubber sleeves to repair the brake master cylinders where the puish rods connect to the handles. These have perished and rusted away. Push rods and cylinders etc. are O.K Apparently yamaha only supply the complete master cylinder at £90.00p !! I have asked all over the place and cannot get them, even the local "serious" off-road bike shops say that they are not available. I have found cylinder rebushing kits in the web, but only in USA. Does anyone know of a U.K. company that may be able to supply the right articles, or something that will fit?? Any help would be much appreciated as this is holding up the finish and MOT. Many thanks in advance Geoff |

Dunno if they do bike stuff but it's maybe worth a call. Oily |

I'd forget about trying to rebuild it just buy another (secondhand) unit. Very unlikely the seals will be perished as they're not rubber and don't perish - as such. -- Simon |

The glued-up outer gaiter on the front m/cyl works fine and the 'temporary' bodge on the rear m/cyl has been going strong for a good two thousand miles without problems. -- -Pip |
