Default CB750 Automatic

At the risk of being shouted at I just thought I post on here that I have a
CB750 Auto SOHC US import for sale on e-bay if anyone is interested. Hope I
haven't cotraved any newsgroup rules and thankyou for your time.

Best of luck getting shot of that matey. I *do* hope all is well with the
gbox too, as spares will be a 'challenge' to come by.
I had the incredible misfortune to have to strip and repair one a good few
years ago without the genuine Honda manual.
Not nice at all. Output shaft bearing had gone. Thank God it wasn't the
gearbox or torque converter.
Interesting design from a technical standpoint, but as with the 900 version
and the 400AT Dream/Superdream, a solution to a problem that doesn't exist,
much like the auto version of my trike engine, the Guzzi 1000 Convert.

I knew a chap once who'd have had one. Had an artificial leg from the knee
down, which wouldn't have allowed for foot-operated gearchange.

first off: does it really matter where I post
second: I wasn't asking any question and didn't get any answers
thirdly: the only comments I got seemed to be snide rather than '(mostly)
knowledgeable'
finally: I feel that I was quite polite in my original posting and strangely
expected to get similar replies (if I got any replies at all as it wasn't
the kind of posting that needed any) unfortunately that was obviously not
the case, I guess it has been that long since I used a newsgroup that I
forgot why I stopped in the first place but thank you for reminding me

Well it does because it makes it very much easier for everyone to follow
the thread of the conversation. It is polite to do so (even if some of
the requests to comply may be thought of as less than polite . I am
sure it is in the FAQ, a link to which is posted on this NG most weeks.

Give it time - not everyone who may have an interest in replying will
have yet read your post. If you kick up a fuss already, perhaps people
won't feel like engaging in a 'conversation' with you.

There is a certain 'style' that characterises many of the regulars in
this NG. Don't fight it. You will get as much as help as people are
able/inclined to give....

Yeah, that's a popular reason for buying autos. These days, I suppose,
you could fit an air shifter and a bar-mounted button changer, though
I'm boggling at the sort of air shifter that could cope with a Guzzi
gearchange. I have a mental vision of a cylinder with a six-inch
calibre, possibly converted from a naval gun, and running on 2000psi
pressure.

Yeah, but it still wouldn't be able to achieve *that* pause to get a
clean up-shift
