When I finally got my 'new' D14/4 to run and put the silencer on I was a bit
distressed to find that the kick start didn't clear it. I put a big dent in the only bit of shiny chrome left on the bike and assumed that the kick start lever that came out of the cardbord box full of spare bits wasn't the right one. Since then I have looked all over and everyone says that the thing I have is the correct one for the model and I even saw a very nice and well restored bike at a show with the same lever and the same dent in the exhaust. Since the exhaust had survived 30 years without a dent I must have done something wrong. I can't see how to move the silencer at all. Any suggestions? (Throwing the whole lot in a skip has been suggested more than once so something a bit more constructive would be good). Thanks. John |

Misalignment of front downpipe Couple of good pages for bantam bits and bodges. http://www.motorbike-world.net/bsa/ http://www.bsa-c15.freeserve.co.uk/c...conversion.htm http://www.rexcauntracing.com/manufa...?model=D14%2F4 http://www.bsaoc.demon.co.uk/ http://www.btinternet.com/~hawkshaw....partslist.html |

Yu have got a D10 silencer, they look almost identical but the kickstart
hits it. I had the same problem a few years back when, unable, to get a D14/4 silencer I bought one for a D10 with the assurance that "they all fit". Do they bollocks. Hope this helps |
