Default Bandit price?

One of my guys bid on this as a cheap bike to commute on (yes I am aware
of 'cheap' in relation to bikes'

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...photo hosting

He's now worried that he's bought a duffer.

Any comments?

TIA

I'm looking at it. £2000. It looks great. Where exactly does he feel he went
wrong?

Did he bother to run the vehicle status report first?

DO you think we need to worry that it has no tax since 2004?

That should sound alarm bells, especially as it's a "private listing" so
bidders ids aren't shown.

It's not uncommon to have a mate bidding-up an item and then drop out after
the auction ends. Your "second chance offer" is then a lot more than you
would have had to pay without matey chipping-in.

I've had that on an item I was bidding on, not private listing, and you
could see from the eBay account history's that these guys had played the
same trick before, sometimes under a previous account name.

I've got one of those and the bike is as sound as a pound, so probably not.
