125cc Motorbike hire between CBT and DAS

Hi,

I am a new learner and have booked my CBT. I want to practice for a
couple of weeks between gaining the CBT and taking the DAS course to
increase my chances of success. I thought that I would hire a 125cc
bike for a couple of weeks before committing to buy any particular
model. I am based in Barnet I have looked online for bike hire shops
in London. I have also searched this newsgroup. I have found bike hire
in Acton, Wandsworth and Catford - all of which are an inconvenient
public transport journey for me. Does anyone know of a bike hire shop
accessible from a Northern Line Station, a Picadilly Line station or a
station on the line that runs between New Barnet, Finsbury Park to
Kings Cross?

Also, under what circumstances can I ride a restricted power 500cc
motorbike rather than a 125?

Have you tried First Line Motorcycles at Arnos Grove - a few mins walk
from the tube station or New Southgate on the main line?

who are in Edmonton on the A10. Not sure if they just do hire but might
be worth a call. You can take the 34 bus from Arnos Grove tube to their
front door or just take the bus directly if you walk up to the main road
at Barnet.

And then it doesn't have to be a restricted 500. He can ride a restricted
(to 33bhp) 500 after passing his test on a 125 IIRC.

Don't do it, it's just not worth it. Instructors hate having to undo your
private practice sessions

Only with a Cardington DAS assessed instructor
