Sounds remarkably like my side effects from codeine-withdrawal (yes yes
- I know they say that codeine isn't addictive but they are wrong..).

When I've had to take large doses for several days at a time I can
guarentee that the next few days I will be very very irritable and
tired.

Cetainly not anyone who's aware that it metabolises to morphine in the
body.

Indeed - well most people's bodies anyway (not everyone has the
required enzyme to convert it).

I've never seen /anyone/ claim it isn't addictive though, & I've done a
huge amount of research on opiates over the last few weeks[1].

[1] This'll be where Phil posts links to a gazillion websites claiming
Codeine isn't addictive.

Well quite. But judging by the pain management doctors ability to
listen to his patients I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know that
either..
